Tutuparin naman ang pangako namin: Food stamp program ni PBBM, aabutin ang lahat ng Pilipino–DSWD

Ginagawa ng Department of Social Welfare and Development ang lahat upang wakasan ang gutom at kahirapan sa bansa, ayon na rin sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Muling tiniyak ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) na gagawin nito ang lahat upang siguraduhing lahat ng Pilipino ay “free from hunger and poverty.”

Ayon kay Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian, inutusan na rin ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang ahensiya na mag-isip at magpatupad ng mga makabagong proyekto at programa upang labanan ang gutom at kahirapan.

“This target of bringing down the number of people rating themselves as “poor” is based on the positive note in the SWS survey showing that 25% of families rating themselves as “hindi mahirap” or “not poor,” is a three-point increase from the June numbers,” ayon sa kalihim.

Aniya, may matinding “desire to end hunger and make a more inclusive country” ang pangulo, na mangyayari lamang kung kikilos ang DSWD at tutuparin ang mandato nito.

Kaugnay niya, nangako si Gatchalian na gumagawa na ng hakbang ang kagawaran upang bigyan ng mga oportunidad ang lahat, panatilihin ang kapayapaan at kaayusan, at magpatupad ng mga programa at polisiya na “for and with the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged.”

Isa na sa mga programang ito ang Food Stamp Program ng DSWD na, kung saan mabibigyan ng meal allowance na P3,000 kada buwan ang mga benepisaryo nito.

“This is the reason why the DSWD came up with the Food Stamp Program (FSP), which was designed primarily to alleviate the lingering incidence of food poverty and malnutrition among low-income Filipino households through the provision of meal augmentation worth PHP 3,000 on a monthly basis,” ani Gatchalian.
