Maaaring gumamit ang Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) ng kahit anong procurement method upang ma-update ang cybersecurity nito.

Sa isang pahayag nitong Huwebes, Oktubre 5, nilinaw ng Technical Support Office ng Government Procurement Policy Board (GPPB) na hindi saklaw ng online procurement ang PhilHealth dahil may subscription na ito sa isang antivirus software.

“This means that they have an existing contract with a locally available supplier, which, therefore, means that the cited GPPB Resolution will not apply,” paglilinaw ng GPPB. Ang naturang resolusyon ay nang GPPB Resolution 05-2022, na pinapayagan ang pagbili online basta hindi aabot sa P1 million.

“Hence, PhilHealth is authorized to conduct Public Bidding or adopt any of the alternative methods of procurement, as may be applicable, depending on their project requirements, or, at their option, avail the Guidelines on the Renewal of Regular and Recurring Services issued through GPPB Resolution No. 06-2022,” dagdag ng GPPB.

Matatandaang tinamaan kailan lamang ng Medusa ransomware ang PhilHealth, at inabot ito ng ilang araw bago maayos ang problema.
