Behave naman sila: BSKE, ‘generally peaceful’ kahit may mga insidente– Comelec

Matagumpay ang idinaos na Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan elections nitong Lunes, Oktubre 30, lalo pa't walang naiulat na mga matinding insidente ng karahasan, malawakang aberyo, o garapapalang mga paglabag sa batas.

Bagaman may mga insidente na panggugulo at karahasan, “generally peaceful” naman raw ang Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) nitong Lunes, Oktubre 30, ayon sa Commission on Elections (Comelec).

“The elections are generally peaceful, although there were some incidents of violence, especially in the Bangsamoro region,” saad ni Comelec chair George Garcia sa isang briefing.

Sinegundahan naman ito ng citizen arm ng Comelec na Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), na katuwang ng ahensiya sa pagmamasid sa halalan.

“It seems that our Barangay and SK candidates are behaving well. There are just a few reported incidents where some are attempting to campaign by distributing sample ballots,” sabi ni PPCRV national coordinator Arwin Serrano sa People’s Television in Filipino.

Milyon-milyong Pilipino ang bumoto sa BSKE, na idineklarang special nonworking holiday ng pamahalaan, upang mapunan ang higit 672,000 posisyon sa barangay at SK.
